The Upfront Theatre will perform a show in Bellingham High School’s auditorium at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, to raise money for the students and teachers affected by the Whatcom Middle School fire.
The show will be improvised comedy, and 100 percent of the show proceeds will be donated to help purchase school supplies and items lost by students and teachers in the Nov. 5 fire. The show will consist of performers from The Upfront Theatre, and one of the performers, Sally Unger, happens to also be a Whatcom Middle School teacher.
“The Upfront is excited to help members of our community to come together and contribute to Whatcom Middle School in a positive and impactful way,” said Galen Emanuele, sales and marketing director for the Upfront. “It’s really nice to be able to use humor and fun as a means to do that.”
Tickets for the event are $15 for adults, $10 for students, and are available through The Upfront Theatre’s box office at 1208 Bay St. from 12 to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday or online at brownpapertickets.com. The Upfront Theatre is a 95-seat cabaret style venue that offers live improv comedy every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
