Upfront Theatre's Improvathon to benefit charities

The Bellingham Business Journal

Performers from the Upfront Theatre will perform a 27-Hour Improvathon to benefit local nonprofits.

The performers will be on stage for 27 hours straight starting 8 p.m. Friday, April 2 and ending the next night at 11:30 p.m. A new show will start every hour with all of the Upfront’s most popular shows mixed into the lineup.

This is the fourth year for the Improvathon, but it’s the first year to involve local nonprofits. This year, nonprofit organizations are signing up and bringing people to log audience hours in their name while watching shows because the Upfront is giving away a free fundraising benefit show to whichever nonprofit logs the most audience hours.

Tickets for individual shows are $5 or $10, depending on the hour, $20 for a “stay as long as you’d like” pass that is good until you exit the theater, and $25 for a HARDCORE pass for those planning to stay for the entire event.

Individuals who stay for the entire event with a HARDCORE pass will win a three-month unlimited pass to The Upfront Theatre.
