Veritas Massage Studio is celebrating 10 years in business and a recent expansion with an open house during the next Downtown Art Walk, on Aug. 7.

The business, at 1229 Cornwall Ave., Suite 209, expanded into a neighboring space at the beginning of July. The expansion allows two massage therapists to practice at the same time, rather than just one, said owner Traci Soriano.

Soriano started the massage studio as a sole proprietor in 2005. Since then she has added three massage therapists to the business: Khya Rice, Markaya Henderson and Carmen Winquist.

Soriano plans to hire another massage therapist in the fall, and more in the future, she said.

“It’s been a dream to grow to the next level,” she said. “This is a baby step. I have bigger visions.”

Soriano would like to eventually have a space where three or four massage therapists at a time could work, she said.

The expansion also added extra space for movement work and infrared therapies, a massage technique that uses infrared rays.

Veritas Massage Studio is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
