More than 1,500 people toured 11 local farms on a sunny Sept. 11 as part of the 3rd Annual Whatcom County Farm Tour. The event, put together by Sustainable Connections, highlights local food and the people who produce that food.
“I think this event brings a lot of folks out into the county who normally might not make it out,” Tom Thornton of Cloud Mountain Farm said in a news release. “It was nice to see the diversity of people who showed up.”
Along the tour, visitors got a glimpse of everything from vegetable fields, apple orchards, cheese production and 1,500-pound bison. Check out the video to hear more about three of the farmers on the tour.
