Jason Oliver, brewmaster for Devils Backbone Brewing Company in Roseland, Virginia, will join Chuckanut Brewery’s team on April 13 to brew a collaboration lager. The lager will only be available at Chuckanut Brewery, probably sometime in June, according to a press release from the brewery.

Both breweries have won awards for lagers and are known for German style beers. Chuckanut Brewery owner and brewmaster Will Kemper met Oliver in Bamberg, Germany in 2010 at a tour of a malting facility. Both brewers toured the facility as a prize for their performance in beer festivals. Chuckanbut Brewery won the Great American Beer Festival 2009 and Devils Backbone won the World Beer Cup 2010.
