The Whatcom Volunteer Center will be conducting a workshop called “Motivational Management: Working with Volunteers” from 9 a.m. to noon on April 27.

The workshop will be at the center’s office at 725 N. State St. and will cost $20. Advanced registration is required and can be obtained by calling (360) 734-3055.

The workshop aims to teach nonprofit organizations how to motivate the volunteers that come to work with them. Skills being taught include: how to create a positive work culture and a positive work environment, how to gain support and cooperation from volunteers and the importance of the link between positive leadership and the health of a nonprofit group’s mission.
