Volvo Rents reaches high for a cure

The Bellingham Business Journal

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year Volvo Rents of Ferndale is joining the fight against breast cancer and “reaching high” for a cure.

Volvo Rents, a woman-owned local franchise provider of small-to-medium sized construction equipment, recently painted one of its Genie Booms pink in support of breast cancer awareness, and 5 percent of the revenue generated from the pink boom will be donated to breast cancer research.

Paula Zender, co-owner of Volvo Rents of Ferndale, said her mother is a breast cancer survivor and supporting awareness is just the right thing to do.

““It’s absolutely working out well, but our goal was not to increase revenue, our goal was to support the search for a cure. It does bring us recognition for doing a good thing, but it was just a way to get our customers involved. When they rent the boom, they’re supporting breast cancer research, too,” Zender said.
