WACC hires Lisa Jacobsen for grant manager

Washington Campus Compact (WACC) has hired Lisa Jacobsen as the grant manager to manage the Retention Project, an AmeriCorps program. Jacobsen will oversee volunteer recruitment and mentoring activities, as well as communication, collaboration and team-building for the program.

The Retention Project is an AmeriCorps program of the Washington State Commission for National and Community Service. Its members are placed on 13 campuses across the state to recruit college students to serve as mentors to junior high and high school students.

She is the certification secretary for the Prevention Specialist Certification Board of Washington, has a master’s degree in Social work and is a certified prevention professional in Washington state.

Jacobsen has more than 13 years of experience in managing programs. She began her career in social services as an AmeriCorps member, where she served for two years. She has managed an employment and training program for homeless families, as well as several grants in substance abuse prevention.
