WCC hosts first Chautauqua

Whatcom Community College will host its first Chautauqua on Tuesday, August 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chautauquas are college programs named by President Teddy Roosevelt to bring culture to rural communities. The cost is $100, and includes a full day of classes and a lunch with President Kathi Hiyane-Brown. One hundred percent of the proceeds goes to support the college’s programs. Classes include “How to Lose Your Job in Less than an Hour,” “Cultivating a Growth Mindset,” ““Presidential Elections,” “Improvisation and Creativity,” and “Poetry: a Lively Introduction to a Beloved Genre.”
