WCC offers class to help nonprofits boost fundraising

The Continuing Education program at Whatcom Community College is offering a new class designed to help nonprofit organizations find ways to boost their fundraising capabilities.

The class, titled “Nonprofit Fundraising: Partnering with the Business Sector,” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, at the college.

Instructors for the workshop said participants will learn strategies to craft and nurture business partnerships that can add substantial income streams to a fund-development plan.

“In today’s economy, nonprofits are discovering that creativity is key when it comes to raising funds and earning income,” sais workshop instructor and fund-development expert Virginia Lang, in a press release.

The workshop costs $55. To register, call 360-383-3200 or enroll on-line at www.whatcom.ctc.edu/continuinged. Full course descriptions and registration information are available at the website.

In March, the Continuing Education program plans to offer additional nonprofit-support classes, including “Grant Writing: An Introduction,” and “Nonprofit Accounting with Quickbooks.”
