Whatcom Community College paralegal studies program coordinator Nancy Ivarinen has been named to the state Bar Association’s 13-member governing board for the Limited Licensed Legal Technician profession. Washington is the only state in the nation to sanction the LLLT profession.

Invarinen has been coordinator for Whatcom Community College’s paralegal studies program since 2003, according to a press release. Ivarninen developed the college’s volunteer-based Street Law program, which provides free, confidential legal advice to students and their families. Ivarninen was the Whatcom Women in Business’ 2010 Professional Women of the Year.
