WECU donates to local nonprofits

Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU) recently donated over $12,900 in the second quarter of 2009 to the following local nonprofits: ALS for the Walk to Defeat ALS, Arthritis Association for the Jingle Bell Run, Birchwood Elementary School Garden, Ferndale School District for the Readiness to Learn Program, Interfaith Community Health Center for the Mobile Dental Program, Kulshan Supported Employment, Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association, Rebound of Whatcom County, Whatcom Center for Early Learning and WWU for Woodring College’s Latino Empowerment Project.

Requests for monetary donations must be made through an application process. Applications for donation and information about the Social Responsibility Committee are available on the WECU website  www.wecu.com or via email at social.responsibility@wecu.com. 

With over 57,800 members, WECU is Whatcom County’s largest member-owned, nonprofit financial cooperative, serving all residents of Whatcom County.
