The Western Washington University campus committee, which studies proposals for a WWU presence on the waterfront, will host another in a continuing series of public forums at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 in the WWU Communications Facility, Room 110.
The committee will provide updates on the project, including options for WWU development on Bellingham’s waterfront.
The WWU Board of Trustees on Feb. 8 reviewed several possible development models, including the universitys serving as a magnet tenant for a private developer and several legal structures that would create independent entities to purchase and develop the proposed university site.
In April, the board will determine which of the models will be used for the development, following public input on the proposals.
The campus committee was appointed in spring 2004 to explore the potential for WWU’s involvement in redevelopment of the former Georgia-Pacific waterfront property.
