The Whatcom County Medical Society (WCMS) has hired Christopher Key, former marketing director for St. Francis of Bellingham, to be its new executive director. He succeeds Sara Billington.
A graduate of Antioch University – Seattle, Key has extensive experience in both communications and nonprofit management.
“We think Christopher’s unusual breadth and depth of experience will be an enormous asset to the organization,” said WCMS President David Lynch in a press release.
Key is a former editor of Whatcom County Business Pulse magazine and also served as executive director of the Whatcom Symphony.
“My first goal is to bring value to the WCMS members and the public by enhancing community awareness of the organization and what it does,” Key said in a press release.
WCMS was founded in 1889 and now counts more than 300 active and retired physicians among its membership. The society is a 501(c)6 fraternal organization that promotes public health and physician education.
