The Whatcom County Re-Entry Coalition announced the election of its board of directors during the organization’s May 23 meeting.
Elected board members with their positions and professions: Joy Gilfilen as president, founder and CEO of Uniting Creatives.com; Terry Weber as vice president of business affairs, Fresh Start Counseling, WorkSource/Department of Corrections curriculum development; Loren Taylor as vice president of public affairs, developed DOC men’s dog training program; Gregory Todd as vice president of communications and funding; Irene Morgan, secretary, founder WCREC; Megan Osterhout, treasurer, Western Washington University student, intern; Andrew Burg, grantwriting and research, civil engineer; Haruichi Bearden, housing and outreach, real estate.
Housing specialist and founder of Re-Entry University Jim Cozad continues as the group’s executive director.
The coalition’s mission statement is to provide an efficient and supportive network of assistance for citizens re-entering our community after incarceration, those homeless and others at-risk in Whatcom County.
Monthly meetings are held at 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at St. Luke’s Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Parkway in Bellingham. The public is invited to attend.
