Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center to host open house

The nonprofit Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center has scheduled a community open house in early October.

The event will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3. The WDRC is located at 13 Prospect St., Suite 201, in downtown Bellingham.

The open house corresponds with Conflict Resolution Month and takes place one day after the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, whose teachings influenced the WDRC’s promotion of collaborative and constructive approaches to conflict resolution, the center’s directors said.

The center’s executive director, Moonwater, will lead a free training session on conflict-resolution techniques from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Afterward, the event will feature refreshments and a tour.

No registration is required, but RSVPs to outreach@whatcomdrc.org are appreciated for the training.

More information can be found at www.whatcomdrc.org or by calling 360-676-0122.
