Ray Pelletti and Debra Young have joined the board of directors of the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center.
The center is a nonprofit dedicated to providing and promoting constructive and collaborative approaches to conflict through mediation, training, facilitation and community education.
Both new board members will serve two-year terms.
Pelletti is former president of the Whatcom County Association of Realtors. He has 20 years’ experience in real estate appraisal, brokerage and management.
He said finding common sense alternatives to resolve conflicts other than court and sentencing is a driving factor in his decision to join the center, according to an April 17 press release.
Young is a mental health professional, with additional experience in human resources and mediation.
She said she’s looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that will come from working on the board.
The Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center operates with a board of 10 community members and a five-person advisory board of five. Additional board positions are available.
