Whatcom Humane Society hosts golf benefit on Aug. 30

Golf entries are still available for the third annual golf tournament to benefit Whatcom Humane Society, which will be held at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club on Thursday, Aug. 30.

“We are looking forward to a fun afternoon for golfers and animal lovers alike,” said event chair and local veterinarian Kris Johnson, in a press release. “We are really excited to be able to hold this year’s tournament at the beautiful Bellingham Golf & Country Club, and we have some terrific tournament prizes as well as amazing raffle prizes lined up—with all proceeds benefitting the great work at WHS.”

The tournament’s format will be a two-person scramble, with pre-registered check-in and event-day registration at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Registration is $220 for a two-person team, and includes a golf cart, warm-up range balls and dinner.

Raffle tickets will be sold at the tournament for $5 each, or five for $20. Prizes include a one-night stay in the Lighthouse Suite at the pet-friendly Hotel Bellwether, a Bushnell laser golf range finder and a one-night stay and golf for two at Semiahmoo Resort, as well as 30 other prizes from local companies such as Sportsman Chalet, Avenue Bread and Furhaven Pet Beds.
