Whatcom Young Professionals is marking its seventh year with a family-oriented picnic on Saturday, June 29, at Whatcom Falls Park, and is inviting those interested in becoming new members to attend.

WYPs is an organization geared toward young professionals ages 21 to 42 or within the first five years of starting their own business. The group provides weekly networking opportunities as well as personal and professional development events throughout the year.

“We are looking forward to a fun day at the park and being able to share with prospective members what WYPs is all about,” said Tyler Byrd, WYPs council chairman, in a press release. “I encourage people to come on out.”

The picnic takes place at Whatcom Falls Park’s large picnic shelter from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include games such as a sack race and egg toss.
