One lesson emerging out of the controversy surrounding the proposed University Ridge student-housing development in Bellingham’s Puget Neighborhood: It’s wise for homeowners to keep up with city zoning regulations.
Even if today you live on a block filled with single-family homes, if it’s zoned for denser development, at some point in the future you could see a new apartment building or multifamily housing project next door.
How big of a role (if at all) does zoning play when you decide to move to a new home or neighborhood?
