Soroptimist International of Bellingham has recognized Kori McKenzie and Leah Clark with Women’s Opportunity Award scholarships.
The awards are given annually to a single parent or a head of household who is re-entering a college or university.
Soroptimist International of Bellingham raises money for the awards with a variety of fundraising opportunities throughout the year, including its upcoming
Tea by the Sea event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at the YWCA in Bellingham.
McKenzie attends Whatcom Community College and plans to transfer to Western Washington University to obtain a bachelor’s in sociology and criminal justice.
Clark is attending Western Washington University and is working toward her bachelor’s in alternative medicine.
