WWU business summit will connect students with professionals

Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics and the university’s Center for Excellence in Management Education will host the Western Business Summit on Friday, Oct. 19.

The event, which was once called Teaching Scholarship Day, is designed to build connection between business professionals, faculty, staff and students.

Business Summit features

– Business education showcase, “Partnerships in Marketing: Industry and Student Collaborations,” featuring presentations feature presentations by current WWU business student Tony Yakovich, industry professionals, as well as WWU alumni from Volvo Trucks Global, Brian Williams Consulting and Microsoft. (11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Viking Union 567, no registration required)

– MBA Advisory Board/Student Networking Workshop. (11-11:45 a.m., Parks Hall 31)

– Luncheon to recognize 2012 Distinguished Faculty Fellow Award recipients. (12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Viking Union Multipurpose Room, cost is $25— register online)

The event will also feature a variety of interaction educational sessions where students can learn directly from industry professionals.
