Western Washington University will offer a course this fall to prepare participants for the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional certification exam.
The 10-week, evening course is designed to give students a foundation in project management and help provide tools to pursue a career in the field. Fall classes begin Oct. 2.
An information session is scheduled from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at BIG Idea Lab, 114 E. Chestnut St. in Bellingham.
PMP is the only certification recognized worldwide as a standard for project management capability and experience, according to the university. The certification is now a minimum requirement for appointment of senior project managers in many local and international companies.
The course will be taught by PMP expert Robin Halliday. Halliday earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and her master’s degree from Western Washington University.
She spent more than 25 years as a manager for a software company. She has also taught business software and management classes throughout the United States and Canada.
