WWU to host Xbox marketing strategist Feb. 6

Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics will host alumnus Bob Brennecke for its Strategic Management Executive Speaker Series from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, in Communications Facility 101 on campus.

Brennecke’s presentation will focus on marketing strategy in the gaming and entertainment industry. It’s free and open to the public.

Brennecke graduated from Western with a bachelor’s degree in 1994. He began his marketing career at Publicis, a marketing and advertising agency in Seattle. Brennecke left Publicis to join Vivendi Universal. He was later hired by TransUnion, where he spent three years as a sales representative managing an existing account base while also acquiring new accounts, according to a press release from Western.

Brennecke left TransUnion to work for Microsoft as a field marketing manager and later as a senior category manager working on the Xbox project.

Western’s College of Business and Economics Strategy Speaker Series program brings senior level business leaders to campus to interact with students and share their perspectives on strategic management, leadership, and professional development. The series is presented by the College of Business and Economics’ Center for Innovation in Education.
