YWCA elects officers for 2011-2012

At its board of directors meeting, held June 9, the Bellingham YWCA elected officers for 2011-2012.

Joan Ullin is serving her second term as president and beginning her fourth year on the board. She is an academic support coordinator at Western Washington University, where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She is also a founding member and officer of the Whatcom County Human Rights Task Force.

Mary Harrington was elected vice president. A business manager for the majority of her career, she is currently an independent telecommunications company representative. Harrington was on the board of Whatcom Crisis Services (now Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services) for 12 years.

Donna Anderson Bode, elected treasurer, holds business degrees from WWU and the University of Washington. She has been a chief financial officer, comptroller and financial analyst for major companies in Seattle, and is currently an international account manager with Bode Tax and Accounting.

Carol Ann Gleaves-Eriksen was elected secretary. A new board member, she is part of the investor services staff at Saturna Capital. She taught English in China for three years and is a member of the League of Women Voters.
