Zender Thurston, a Whatcom County civil practice law firm, raised $7,825 for the Bellingham Food Bank this past December by matching up to $25 per donation from its clients and other Whatcom County attorneys. Instead of sending a traditional holiday card, Zender Thurston sent a letter explaining the needs of the food bank and offering to do the match.
The demands on the Bellingham Food Bank have increased in recent years due to the downturn in the economy.
“The need is great, and the response was outstanding,” said Loch Clark, president and a shareholder of the firm, in a press release. “Good things start from small efforts, and the synergy was very rewarding. The firm wishes to thank the many clients and colleagues who participated.”
